Dialysis Technology

A Diploma in Dialysis Technology is a specialized program that trains individuals to operate and maintain dialysis machines used in the treatment of patients with kidney failure or kidney dysfunction. The program typically covers topics such as:

  1. Anatomy and Physiology: Understanding the structure and function of the kidneys and urinary system.

  2. Principles of Dialysis: Learning how dialysis machines work and the principles behind hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis.

  3. Patient Care: Providing care to patients undergoing dialysis, including monitoring vital signs and recognizing complications.

  4. Infection Control: Ensuring a sterile environment to prevent infections during dialysis procedures.

  5. Equipment Maintenance: Learning to maintain and troubleshoot dialysis machines and equipment.

  6. Medical Terminology: Understanding the terminology used in nephrology and dialysis settings.

  7. Professional Ethics: Upholding ethical standards in patient care and maintaining patient confidentiality.

After completing the diploma program, individuals can work as dialysis technicians or technologists in hospitals, dialysis centers, and other healthcare settings under the supervision of nurses and physicians. Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:  Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board or university. Some institutions may also require candidates to have studied science subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) in their 10+2.

Minimum Age:  Candidate must have completed age of 17 years of age as on 31st December of admission year. There is no maximum age limit for the admission.

Minimum Marks:  Candidates must have secured a minimum of 35% marks in their 10+2 or equivalent examination.

Duration:  2 years, full time Diploma Course.
